In a significant development, a court in Ara, Bihar, has taken cognizance of a complaint and issued summons against Udhayanidhi Stalin, a prominent leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Sports Minister of Tamil Nadu. Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, faces legal action for his remarks on ‘Sanatana Dharma’, which allegedly hurt the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus.The complaint was lodged by advocate Dharnidhar Pandey, who asserted that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments had deeply offended the religious beliefs of Hindus across the country. In response to the complaint, Ara Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoranjan Kumar Jha has initiated legal proceedings under Section 298 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to uttering words with the deliberate intent to wound religious feelings.
The issuance of summons against Udhayanidhi Stalin marks a significant escalation in the legal battle surrounding his controversial remarks.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for April 1, signaling the beginning of a legal process that will determine the outcome of the allegations leveled against Udhayanidhi Stalin.
