Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, during a grand DMK event in Chennai, addressed the party cadres, setting their sights firmly on the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections. He called upon party members to work towards a historic victory that no other party has achieved so far.In his speech, Stalin acknowledged the contributions of DMK’s governance in developing Tamil Nadu but pointed out that many of the state’s demands remain unfulfilled. “Despite the progress made under DMK’s rule, our demands for state rights are still pending. There is no government at the Center willing to ensure state autonomy. We continue to fight for the funds we deserve. The current government is incapable of addressing even basic tax questions, such as how much tax to levy on ice cream,” he said, emphasizing the challenges faced by the state government.
Stalin further highlighted that even with limited funds, the DMK government had implemented various schemes, and with full financial resources, the party could achieve even more. He reiterated DMK’s ongoing efforts to bring about constitutional amendments that ensure state autonomy.
Reflecting on the party’s recent successes, Stalin noted, “Since I assumed leadership, our party has won every election. I am confident that we will win the upcoming elections as well, not out of arrogance but because I trust our dedicated cadres. Our next target is the 2026 Assembly elections, and we must work so hard that history will record a victory unlike any other.”
The event also saw awards being presented to senior DMK leaders, recognizing their contributions to the party. In a special arrangement using AI technology, former Chief Minister Karunanidhi was made to virtually address the gathering, much to the delight of party members. Ministers, senior leaders, and numerous DMK cadres attended the event.
