The Madras High Court has dismissed Naam Tamilar Katchi leader Seeman’s petition to quash a sexual assault case filed against him by actress Vijayalakshmi.Vijayalakshmi had accused Seeman of sexual assault under the pretext of marriage in 2011, later withdrawing her complaint in 2012. However, she filed a fresh complaint in 2023, leading to a renewed investigation.
Seeman’s lawyer argued for dismissal, citing previous withdrawals, but the court ruled that police have the authority to investigate such cases. The Valasaravakkam police have been directed to complete the probe within three months.
