PMK founder S Ramadoss has urged the Tamil Nadu government to create a business-friendly environment after two major investments worth ₹8,000 crore shifted to Andhra Pradesh.
In a statement, Ramadoss pointed out that US-based Carrier AC had planned a manufacturing unit in Sriperumbudur but has now moved to Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, South Korea’s LG has decided to set up a ₹5,000 crore unit in Sri City instead of Tamil Nadu.
Blaming the state’s bureaucratic hurdles, he alleged that industries struggle to get approvals and permissions in Tamil Nadu, unlike Andhra Pradesh, where ease of doing business has improved.
He criticized the DMK government, claiming that Tamil Nadu’s ability to attract investments has declined and accused it of creating a false narrative about new investments. He demanded a white paper on actual investments made in the state instead of misleading advertisements.
