The DMK on Thursday criticised a recent Madras High Court judgment in the Sanatana Dharma controversy, calling it “wrong” and asserting that there was no place for a judge’s personal beliefs in judicial rulings.
Reacting to the verdict that quashed an FIR against BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya, DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai said the ruling failed to uphold basic legal principles, including the right to be heard.
He alleged that personal ideology appeared to have influenced the judgment.
The DMK rejected claims that it was anti-Hindu and reiterated that it opposed discrimination in the name of religion, not any faith itself.
