India sealed a commanding 3–0 series sweep against New Zealand with an emphatic eight-wicket victory in the third T20I at Guwahati on Sunday. Chasing a modest target of 154, the hosts raced to 155/2 in just 10 overs, showcasing their batting firepower.
Abhishek Sharma (68*) and skipper Suryakumar Yadav (57*) remained unbeaten, tearing apart the New Zealand attack after an early setback. India lost Sanju Samson to a golden duck on the very first ball, while Ishan Kishan departed for a brisk 28 off 13 balls, but the chase was never in doubt.
Earlier, a disciplined all-round bowling effort restricted New Zealand to 153/9. Harshit Rana struck in the opening over by removing Devon Conway, followed by Hardik Pandya dismissing Rachin Ravindra. Jasprit Bumrah made an instant impact, claiming wickets of Tim Seifert, Mitchell Santner, and Kyle Jamieson.
A brief recovery came through a 50-run stand between Mark Chapman and Glenn Phillips, but Ravi Bishnoi and Pandya broke the resistance to keep New Zealand in check.
With a ruthless chase and clinical bowling display, India underlined their dominance and wrapped up the series in style.
