Chennai, Apr 1:

Devotees thronged Murugan temples across Tamil Nadu today to celebrate Panguni Uthiram, one of the most auspicious festivals in the Tamil calendar.

Special poojas and prayers were held at major abodes of Lord Murugan, including Tiruttani, Palani, Thiruchendur, Swamimalai, Siruvapuri, and Vallakottai, where a steady stream of devotees participated in rituals and offerings.

In Chennai, the Vadapalani Murugan Temple witnessed a massive turnout from early morning. The temple premises were decorated elaborately, and devotees carried Kavadi and performed the Paal Kudam ritual as part of their prayers.

The festival, which began a week ago, featured continuous poojas and chants of Arohara, filling the air with devotional fervor.

Authorities made special arrangements to manage the crowds and traffic near the temples. Annadhanam (community meal) was served at several locations, ensuring devotees could partake in the festive spirit.

The celebrations across the state reflected the deep devotion and vibrant traditions associated with Lord Murugan, drawing thousands of devotees to seek blessings and offer gratitude.
