Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Sunday urged voters to deliver a decisive mandate to the DMK-led alliance to prevent the BJP from gaining a foothold in the state.
Sharing the stage with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at a rally in Hosur, Stalin said only a victory of over 200 seats could stop what he described as the BJPâs âdivisive agenda.â He asserted that the Dravidian model of governance was committed to safeguarding Tamil Naduâs rights and welfare schemes.
Stalin warned that if the BJP managed to enter the state, it would attempt to create social divisions and disrupt development.
Taking a swipe at Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Stalin said the opposition leader had failed to question the BJP on issues affecting the stateâs growth. He added that Tamil Nadu had seen significant industrial progress under the DMK, with over 40,000 industries established.
Rejecting allegations on the Womenâs Reservation Bill, Stalin said the DMK had acted to protect Tamil Naduâs interests by opposing delimitation-linked changes. He claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi was frustrated as the issue had turned into a political setback for the BJP.
