Chennai, June 4:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will chair the first Cabinet meeting of his government on June 5 at 11 am, marking an important step in the functioning of the newly formed administration.
The meeting gains significance as it comes soon after the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by Vijay, assumed office following its emergence as the single largest party in the recent Assembly elections.
The party formed the government with the support of its alliance partners.
After taking charge, the Chief Minister constituted the Cabinet by allocating ministerial portfolios not only to his party members but also to key allies such as the Congress, VCK, and IUML.
This move reflected the coalition nature of the government and aimed at ensuring broader political representation in governance.
The first Cabinet meeting is expected to deliberate on key administrative priorities, policy directions, and immediate governance measures.
It may also review ongoing schemes, discuss implementation strategies, and set the agenda for the government in the coming months.
Political observers view this meeting as crucial in outlining the government’s policy focus and signalling its approach to administration, development, and coordination with alliance partners.
