Chennai, July 7:
‘We the Leaders’ movement founder and former Tamilnadu BJP chief K. Annamalai has expressed support for any government that takes firm steps to curb corruption, irrespective of political differences. Speaking at a meeting of the organisation in New Jersey, he said his movement would extend full backing to regimes that prioritise transparency and anti-graft measures.
Highlighting the challenges faced by a newly formed administration, Annamalai stressed that a government should be given at least one year to understand governance, stabilise systems and deliver results. Drawing a comparison with corporate environments, he noted that even in a new job, it takes six months to a year to fully grasp processes and responsibilities.
He also pointed out that several members of the current cabinet are first-time ministers with limited administrative experience, and therefore need time to adapt.
Emphasising constructive criticism over obstruction, Annamalai said his movement would welcome any positive steps taken for Tamil Nadu and continue to support efforts aimed at eliminating corruption.
