Actor Jiiva has teamed up with Malayalam filmmaker Muhammad Musthafa for his 49th film, tentatively titled Jiiva 49. The project was launched with a traditional pooja ceremony on Monday, marking the beginning of production.
The film features Nimisha Sajayan and Angel Maria, known for her role in Vaazha 2, in prominent roles. Jiiva and Sudhan Sundaram are co-producing the film under the banners of Super Good Films and Passion Studios. Further details about the storyline, supporting cast and technical crew are awaited.
Musthafa, an actor-turned-director, made his directorial debut with Kappela, which earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director. His subsequent film, Mura, was a gangster drama starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Hridhu Haroon. As an actor, Musthafa also received a National Film Award special mention for his performance in Ain.
The collaboration marks another association between Jiiva and a Malayalam filmmaker. Earlier this year, the actor worked with Nithish Sahadev, director of Falimy, on Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil, which received a favourable response at the box office.
