Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central figure in the BJP’s Lok Sabha election campaign, is gearing up for another visit to Tamil Nadu on May 30. This will mark his eleventh public engagement in the state this year, with many of these appearances strategically planned ahead of the upcoming polls.Sources from Kamalalayam, the Tamil Nadu BJP headquarters, have confirmed that Modi will visit Kanniyakumari on May 30. On May 31, he is scheduled to meditate at the Dhyana Mandapam (meditation hall) at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. This visit coincides with the run-up to the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha election polling on June 1. The votes will be counted, and the results announced on June 4.
In preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit, police personnel and PM’s security officials are implementing heightened security measures across Kanniyakumari district and the Lakshadweep Sea, according to sources.
Modi’s choice of Kanniyakumari for his pre-poll spiritual retreat mirrors a similar event in 2019. On the eve of the final day of polling that year, he took a spiritual break by meditating in the caves of the revered Kedarnath in Uttarakhand.
The Prime Minister’s visit is expected to draw large crowds and media attention, highlighting the high stakes of the forthcoming election phase.
