Chief Minister M K Stalin announced his upcoming two-day visit to Villupuram district on November 28, aimed at reviewing the progress and implementation of various government schemes. This visit is part of his ongoing commitment to assessing the on-ground impact of state initiatives through direct engagement.

Stalin’s visit to Villupuram follows a series of similar tours to Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchi, Virudhunagar, and Coimbatore districts. Each of these visits was marked by enthusiastic receptions from local residents, reflecting widespread public support for the DMK government. Stalin expressed his joy at the affection shown by the people, underscoring the significance of such field visits in strengthening governance and ensuring transparency.

“The people cheered and expressed support for the DMK rule. They have declared that this DMK rule is forever, Dravidian model rule is fantastic. And it will win polls in 2026 too,” Stalin shared in a letter addressed to DMK party members.

The Chief Minister’s visits have not only focused on reviewing schemes but have also bolstered the party’s confidence ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. Stalin revealed that the public’s overwhelming response during his visits indicated strong support for the DMK. “People have assured me that the DMK would secure 200 Assembly seats in the 2026 election,” he noted, emphasizing the perceived mandate for continued Dravidian model governance.

Stalin took the opportunity to highlight his appreciation for Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thirumavalavan, dispelling rumors of any tension between the DMK and VCK. “I know his soul. Thirumavalavan thanked me for establishing a SIPCOT industrial park in Jayankondam, Ariyalur district, within a remarkable one-year time frame,” Stalin said, pointing to the collaborative nature of the alliance. This acknowledgment aims to strengthen ties with the VCK, showcasing a unified front amidst speculation of discord.

In addition to focusing on state achievements, Stalin made an indirect reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshows, contrasting them with the DMK’s grassroots approach. Without mentioning Modi by name, Stalin underscored that the DMK’s efforts are rooted in genuine connection and service to the people, rather than spectacle-driven appearances. This subtle jab reinforces the party’s narrative of prioritizing substance over optics.
