Chennai, June 29:
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government has initiated outreach efforts to its alliance partners ahead of a key thanksgiving meeting scheduled for July 1.
The meeting, convened by Chief Minister and party president C. Joseph Vijay, aims to acknowledge the support extended by allies to both the party and the government since assuming office.
As part of this initiative, Rural Development and Water Resources Minister N. Anand, who also serves as the party’s general secretary, along with Public Works and Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna, met Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol. Thirumavalavan on Sunday. The meeting took place at a private hotel in Meenambakkam, where the ministers formally invited him to participate in the upcoming gathering.
The July 1 meeting is expected to be held in Kovalam and will bring together leaders of parties that have backed the TVK government.
According to party sources, invitations will also be extended to key allies, including the Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Congress, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), among others.
