For the first time in India, a glass-fiber bridge constructed in the middle of the sea was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Kanyakumari.
The inauguration marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic 133-foot-high Thiruvalluvar statue situated at the confluence of the three seas in Kanyakumari. The silver jubilee celebrations will officially begin on January 1.
As part of the celebrations, the glass-fiber bridge has been constructed to connect the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue, replacing the reliance on boats for transportation between these landmarks. The construction, which took over a year to complete, has now been opened to the public.
After cutting the ribbon, Chief Minister Stalin walked across the bridge to visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue and paid his respects. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister Durai Murugan, and several other dignitaries.
