Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman launched a scathing attack on both the AIADMK and BJP, asserting that despite frequent political realignments, there is little to distinguish the two parties in terms of governance or ideological outlook. Speaking to reporters after leading a protest against the Waqf Board Amendment Bill on Sunday, Seeman accused all major parties of indulging in superficial politics while failing to address the real concerns of the people.āPolitical faces may change, but their policies remain the same. There’s murder and robbery here, and the same there. Whether AIADMK or BJP comes to power, they continue to raise issues like Katchatheevu without delivering any real solution,ā he said. He further alleged that the recently proposed Waqf Bill was nothing but an electoral tactic meant to appease the Hindu majority while creating distrust among Muslims. āSuch legislation only fosters division,ā he claimed.
Seeman also took aim at the ruling DMK government, accusing it of hypocrisy in its handling of temple lands. āThis is the same government that promised homes on temple lands. Now, they are demolishing poor people’s settlements in the name of removing encroachments,ā he charged. He raised concerns over the lack of transparency in the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, which manages nearly 38 lakh acres of temple land. āWhy is there no audit? Will you form a Muslim-Christian committee to examine it? Letās debate ā Iām ready,ā he challenged.
When asked about the NTKās strategy for the 2026 Assembly elections, Seeman reaffirmed his party’s commitment to contest independently. āEven if thereās a 40-cornered fight, I will align only with the people. My only alliance is with the party of US President Donald Trump!ā he quipped, in a sarcastic reference to the unpredictability of Tamil Nadu’s political scene. On the BJPās recent move to replace its Tamil Nadu state president K. Annamalai, Seeman refused to be drawn into speculation, calling it an internal party matter.
