Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a scathing critique of Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS.) during a speech in Tiruvarur, accusing the former Chief Minister of compromising the state’s rights and betraying its interests.
Stalin charged EPS with “mortgaging” Tamil Nadu’s rights to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He specifically highlighted E.P.S.’s perceived inaction regarding Keezhadi, stating that E.P.S. “only knows how to lie down” on the issue.
The Chief Minister further alleged that E.P.S. betrayed those who helped him ascend to power and consistently acted against the welfare of Tamil Nadu during his tenure. Stalin also addressed E.P.S.’s comments regarding the construction of colleges using temple funds, clarifying that such initiatives are permissible under the Endowments Act, implying a lack of legal understanding on EPS’ part.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin affirmed that the state’s industry is “standing tall,” attributing the progress to his government’s efforts and the legacy of former Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Speaking in Tiruvarur, Stalin highlighted various developmental initiatives and achievements under the DMK government.
The Chief Minister praised Kalaignar for his visionary approach in shaping modern Tamil Nadu, noting his success across various endeavors, including the renovation and operation of the Tiruvarur chariot after 22 years of disuse.
Stalin asserted that the DMK government is dedicated to bringing prosperity and happiness to the people, citing that 2.37 lakh women in Tiruvarur are currently receiving financial assistance. He also mentioned his personal participation in the party’s membership drive in Tiruvarur, emphasizing that Tamil Nadu is moving towards a “great victory” with over 50 lakh party members, with Tiruchuli constituency leading in membership.
For Tiruvarur, Stalin highlighted several new projects and ongoing initiatives, including plans to establish SIPCOT complexes, the disbursement of Rs. 143 crore in crop insurance, the construction of a new model school in Nannilam, and a new commercial complex at the Jubilee Market worth Rs. 11 crore. He also announced a new government arts college in Mannargudi and the installation of a statue for Nell Jayaraman in Thiruvarur. Additionally, canals and water regulators in Tiruvarur are slated for renovation at a cost of Rs. 43 crore.
Despite acknowledging interference from the central government, Stalin emphasized that his administration continues to implement crucial schemes.
