AIADMK General Secretary and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) on Tuesday warmly welcomed and congratulated AMMK General Secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran following his return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
In a statement, Palaniswami said the development marked an important moment in the collective political effort to defeat what he described as the “authoritarian and dynastic rule” of the DMK government in Tamil Nadu. He noted that unity among like-minded parties was essential to restore good governance and protect the interests of the people.
EPS said the primary objective of the alliance was to uproot the DMK regime, end family-centric politics, and re-establish the governance model associated with the late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, which he termed as a “golden era” for Tamil Nadu.
Calling for coordinated action, Palaniswami urged all alliance partners to work together to free the state from what he alleged was misrule and to ensure a better future for the people. He reiterated that public welfare would remain the core focus of the alliance’s political agenda.
Political observers view Dhinakaran’s entry into the NDA as a significant pre-election development ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, potentially reshaping alliance dynamics and opposition strategies in the state.
