The Union Budget 2026–27 was welcomed by BJP allies AIADMK and PMK, who described it as growth-oriented and future-ready.
Party General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami said the Budget reflects India’s economic strength, with a clear focus on fiscal discipline, infrastructure, MSMEs and domestic manufacturing. He said the thrust on high-speed rail, highways, logistics, textiles and MSME financing would boost employment and reinforce long-term economic stability.
Party president Dr Anbumani Ramadoss welcomed higher capital expenditure, Semiconductor Mission 2.0, rare mineral corridors, rail and inland waterway projects, and tourism initiatives announced for Tamil Nadu. While appreciating duty exemptions on life-saving drugs and welfare schemes, he urged the Centre to increase states’ share in central taxes to 50% and ensure environmental safeguards in mineral projects.
