Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to embark on a two-day political tour of Tiruchirappalli on February 13–14, marking a key phase in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election campaign in Tamil Nadu, which goes to the polls later this year.

The visit comes as all major political parties intensify their preparations ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The BJP, aligned with the AIADMK and other regional allies, is seeking to challenge the incumbent DMK government and position itself as a credible alternative in the state’s political landscape.

According to official travel plans, Amit Shah will arrive in Tiruchirappalli from Delhi on February 13 by a special aircraft. He is expected to stay overnight at a star-rated hotel in the city on Friday.

On February 14, Shah will depart by helicopter from Tiruchirappalli Airport to Karaikal. He is scheduled to land at the helipad located within the campus of the Varichikudi Government Polytechnic College and proceed by road to the Karaikal Municipality grounds. At around 11 a.m., he will take part in a large BJP public meeting where he is expected to address party workers and supporters.

After delivering his speech, the Union minister will return by helicopter to Tiruchirappalli Airport and then travel to Salem by flight. There, he will attend a meeting of the BJP Central Committee and speak at that gathering.

Several senior leaders, including Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and L. Murugan, as well as Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran, are reportedly accompanying Shah and are already stationed in Tiruchirappalli to coordinate events.

In addition to core political events, a business conclave titled “Bharat – The Next Decade” is planned at Srimath Andavan Arts and Science College in Tiruvanaikaval. This programme will bring together entrepreneurs and experts from across Tamil Nadu and other parts of India on February 13–14, with participation from senior BJP leaders including Piyush Goyal and L. Murugan.
