Tamil Nadu has begun experiencing intense summer heat, with temperatures crossing the 100-degree Fahrenheit mark in three districts, signalling an early rise in summer conditions across the State.
According to weather observations, Vellore recorded the highest temperature at around 105°F, while Karur (Paramathi) and Erode registered 100.4°F each.
The increase in temperature comes as the winter season gradually ends and summer conditions begin to intensify across Tamil Nadu. While mornings still witness mild mist in some areas, the heat rises sharply as the day progresses, making afternoons particularly uncomfortable.
Other parts of the State also recorded high temperatures close to the 100°F mark. Chennai and Dharmapuri recorded around 98.6°F, while temperatures at the airports in Tiruchirappalli and Madurai reached 99.68°F.
Meteorological observations suggest that temperatures may continue to rise in the coming weeks. With mercury already touching the 100°F mark in March, the heat is expected to intensify further during April and May, the peak summer months in the State.
Weather experts advise residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions as summer conditions strengthen across the region.
