Chennai, Mar 31:
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Aadhav Arjuna has accused Chief Minister M. K. Stalin of misusing administrative power to obstruct the election campaign of actor-turned-politician Vijay ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
In a sharp statement, Arjuna alleged that, out of fear of electoral defeat, the ruling government was using the police and state machinery to create hurdles for Vijay’s campaign activities. He claimed that permissions were being delayed or denied and that administrative pressure was being exerted to restrict campaign movements.
He further stated that such actions undermine democratic principles and prevent a fair electoral environment. According to him, opposition parties, particularly new entrants like TVK, are facing systematic challenges in conducting their campaign freely.
The allegations come amid an intensifying political battle in Tamil Nadu, with Vijay emerging as a new challenger in the electoral arena. His campaign, especially in constituencies like Perambur, has drawn significant public attention and large crowds, increasing the political stakes.
Meanwhile, there has been no immediate response from the DMK leadership regarding these claims. Political observers note that such accusations are likely to escalate as campaigning gathers momentum across the state.
With the election schedule underway, issues surrounding campaign permissions, security, and administrative neutrality are expected to remain key points of contention in the run-up to polling.
