Chennai, Apr 3:
Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Anbumani Ramadoss launched a sharp attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, accusing it of repeatedly deceiving government employees and teachers, and warned that the party would face electoral consequences.
Addressing the issue of government staff welfare, Anbumani alleged that the State government had failed to honour key promises, particularly on pension reforms and employee benefits. He claimed that announcements made by the government, including the assured pension scheme, had not been effectively implemented on the ground, leaving many eligible employees without benefits.
The PMK leader further charged that the DMK government had engaged in “misleading assurances” during negotiations with employee unions, without providing concrete solutions to long-pending demands. He said repeated talks without outcomes had led to frustration among government staff and teachers.
Anbumani asserted that government employees, who form an influential voting segment, would “teach a lesson” to the ruling party in the upcoming Assembly elections if their grievances continued to be ignored
