The CBI has written to State government to grant permission to prosecute former Tamilnadu Ministers Vijayabaskar, BV RAmana and former DGP Rajendran, in gutkha case. The State would refer the proposal to the Union government with its recommendations. The scam was unearthed by the Income Tax Department while searching the Chennai premises of the manufacturer of MDM brand of Gutkha.
