In a recent session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Leader of Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami raised significant concerns regarding the functioning of the current DMK government, referring to it as a “Kuzhu (committee) government.” Palaniswami demanded transparency from the ruling party, urging them to release a white paper detailing the numerous committees established since assuming power and their effectiveness in aiding governance. Palaniswami’s call for transparency comes amid growing skepticism regarding the DMK regime’s utilization of committees, with accusations that they are being formed merely to deflect issues rather than address them. With the DMK government having constituted a total of 52 committees since coming into power, Palaniswami emphasized the need for clarity on their outcomes and the actions taken based on their recommendations.
