New Delhi, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump during a phone conversation, following Trump’s second term in office.President Trump, after assuming office for the second time, has been issuing several key directives. Amidst this, PM Modi reached out to him over the phone to convey his best wishes.
Sharing details of the conversation, PM Modi stated:
“I had a phone call with my close friend, U.S. President Donald Trump. I congratulated him on beginning his second term. We reaffirmed our commitment to working together as trusted partners for the benefit of both nations. Together, we aim to enhance the welfare of our people and strive for global peace, prosperity, and security.”
Last week, congratulating President Donald Trump, Modi said that he looked forward to working closely together once again to benefit both countries as well as to shape a better future for the world.
Meanwhile, according to a Reuters report, Indian and US diplomats are trying to arrange a February meeting between PM Modi and US President Trump in Washington.
In February 2020, Trump visited India during his previous term in office.
In 2019, Trump held a “Howdy Modi” rally with Modi in Houston.
