In a major move, police have arrested Nandhini, mother-in-law of Rithanya, for harassment.Rithanya, a young woman from Tamil Nadu, died by suicide recently. Her death caused public anger and calls for justice.
Police investigations showed that she faced mental and emotional harassment, especially from her mother-in-law.
Based on her family’s complaint and early evidence, police arrested Nandhini. She has been charged with abetment of suicide and domestic cruelty.
The case is still under investigation.
