AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami will start his statewide tour from Coimbatore on July 7. The campaign comes ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.The first phase, titled āMakkalai Kappom, Thamizhagathai Meetpomā (Let us protect the people and reclaim Tamil Nadu), will end on July 21 in Thanjavur.
Coimbatore was chosen as the starting point, as it is a stronghold for the AIADMK.
During the tour, Palaniswami will visit all 234 Assembly constituencies. He plans to talk about what he calls the failures of the DMK government.
He also made his first election promiseāto bring back peace, prosperity, development, and rights for Tamil Nadu, which he says were lost under the DMK rule.
