The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) announced that its state assembly election campaign will officially begin on February 1, 2026, party general secretary Durai Murugan said on Tuesday. The decision was taken at a meeting of district secretaries held under the leadership of party president M.K. Stalin.
Under the campaign slogan “Tamil Nadu Thalaikuniyadhu”, the DMK plans to intensify activities across all 234 assembly constituencies throughout February. Twenty star campaigners chosen by Stalin will tour the state, holding meetings and public gatherings in every constituency to highlight the party’s achievements and discuss public expectations and concerns.
In each constituency, the campaign will include general meetings as well as interactions involving prominent local figures, youth, students, volunteers, trade unions, entrepreneurs, and educators. District and regional leaders will work alongside the star speakers to promote DMK’s agenda and mobilise support ahead of the polls.
The party has also called on local organisers to prepare promotional materials and arrange necessary logistics to ensure robust outreach during the month-long campaign.
