Tehran, Apr 2:
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued an open letter to Americans pushing back against how Tehran is often portrayed in global discourse. In the message, he rejected the idea that Iran poses a security threat, arguing that such claims do not align with “historical reality”.
According to reports, Pezeshkian stressed that hostility is not directed at the people of the U.S., but rooted in political and military actions, urging Americans to look beyond official narratives and reconsider how Iran is portrayed.
He argued that depicting Iran as a threat does not align with “historical reality,” and called for greater understanding, dignity, and mutual respect between the two nations’ populations.
The letter comes at a time of intense geopolitical tension and ongoing military confrontation, with Pezeshkian also questioning U.S. actions in the region and hinting at the possibility of diplomacy over continued conflict.
