Chennai, April 22:
Stephen Hsu, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai, has criticised China’s interpretation of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, urging global attention against its “misrepresentation.”
He also condemned Beijing’s alleged pressure to block overseas visits of Lai Ching-te, including to Eswatini, calling it coercive diplomacy.
Raising aviation concerns, Hsu warned against the “politicisation” of Flight Information Regions, stating it threatens global air safety and freedom of flight.
Reaffirming Taiwan’s stance, he said the island’s 23 million people have the right to global engagement. “No pressure can alter Taiwan’s resolve,” he said.
He added that Taiwan will continue working with like-minded partners to strengthen international cooperation and global well-being.
