Chennai, Sept 1:
The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Chennai has been increased by ₹10.50 with effect from September 1, taking the price to ₹2,916.50.
Oil companies revise the prices of commercial and domestic LPG cylinders on the first day of every month, based on factors including international crude oil prices and the rupee’s exchange rate against the US dollar.
While the commercial cylinder price has been increased, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at ₹957.50 in Chennai.
The latest increase is expected to add to the concerns of hotel owners and small businesses, for whom commercial LPG is a major operating expense.
