In a stern message delivered on Sunday, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of Tamil Nadu cautioned the district secretaries of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, warning them of potential consequences if they fail to ensure victory for the DMK-led INDIA bloc candidates in the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“Perform or perish. It was the message we got from the Chief Minister. He made it clear that he would not hesitate to change the district secretaries even if they are seniors,” revealed a district secretary, who also serves as a Minister within the party.

Stalin’s unequivocal stance emphasized the paramount importance of securing a triumphant outcome in the upcoming elections. He stressed that winning the election was of utmost significance and urged senior party members not to underestimate the gravity of his directive.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the INDIA bloc, consisting of national and state political parties, holds significant sway, and he expressed confidence that the BJP would be unable to form the government after the next Lok Sabha election. “There is a strong opinion that the INDIA bloc would form the government after the election. It has increased our responsibility and duty,” he asserted while addressing party district secretaries, Ministers, and constituency observers.

Mr. Stalin underscored the imperative to secure victory in all 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during the forthcoming election. He made it clear that the party’s success took precedence over individual victories. “We won 39 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. This time, we have to sweep all 40 seats. Plan and work hard to make your plan a reality. The DMK and its alliance should win in all the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies and replicate the result at the national level,” he emphasized.

With these stringent directives, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has set the tone for an intense and high-stakes electoral battle in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, underscoring the DMK’s determination to secure victory and strengthen the INDIA bloc’s position on the national stage.
