DMK will be thrown out in 2026, says Annamalai

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has declared that the DMK government will be ousted in the 2026 elections, emphasizing that even minorities will vote against the ruling party. Speaking at a memorial event in Coimbatore for the victims of the 1998 serial bomb blasts, he paid tribute to those who lost their lives before addressing a public gathering.
Annamalai asserted that the BJP follows through on its promises, and with just one year left for the DMK government, a political shift is inevitable. He criticized the state government for failing to observe Anti-Terrorism Day on May 21, as advised by the central government, accusing DMK of prioritizing vote-bank politics over national security.
He also highlighted the BJP-led NDA’s focus on strengthening India’s defense, ensuring the nation is prepared even for a two-front war. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the same memorial in 2024, he pointed out the BJP’s commitment to national security.
Taking a dig at CM Stalin’s confidence in securing 200 seats, Annamalai predicted that DMK will be thrown out of power in 2026, claiming that the people have already decided their fate. He accused the ruling party of shielding extremism by dismissing incidents like the Coimbatore car bomb blast as a mere cylinder explosion, despite ISIS claiming responsibility.
Raising concerns over women’s safety, he criticized the government’s inaction on sexual harassment cases in schools, government buses, and colleges, mocking Stalin for his overconfidence in securing victory. He urged people to reject politicians who seek votes through appeasement politics, warning that Tamil Nadu cannot endure further deterioration.
Defending the BJP against accusations of being a communal party, Annamalai stated that the party stands for Indian culture and Sanatana Dharma, which transcends time and includes all faiths. He maintained that the BJP is not against any religion but is committed to national integrity. Concluding his speech, he asserted that in 2026, even minorities will vote to remove DMK from power.
