A five-tier security setup has been put in place ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ariyalur district in Tamil Nadu on July 27.The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Tiruchirappalli airport on the night of July 26, after attending an event at Tuticorin airport. From there, he will proceed to attend the final day of the Aadi Thiruvathirai festival at the historic Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple in Ariyalur.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) has already inspected all key locations, including the airport, helipad, and the temple premises. Bomb detection squads have conducted checks, and a temporary helipad has been set up near the temple to accommodate the PM’s visit.
As part of the security measures, the district administration has banned the use of drones in Tiruchirappalli and Ariyalur from July 24 to 29. Around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed in both districts to ensure law and order.
Officials have also reviewed arrangements related to transport, water supply, sanitation, and electricity. The security deployment will remain in place until the Prime Minister’s visit concludes.
