Salem, Feb 14: Actor‑turned‑politician Vijay, president of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) strongly criticised Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, claiming that everything the CM says is false. Speaking at a TVK office‑bearers’ meeting in Seelanaickenpatti, Vijay accused the DMK government of misleading the public ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. He questioned the government’s claims of progress and public satisfaction, pointing to ongoing protests over land, water, jobs, and rising living costs. “Everything that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin says is hollow and baseless,” Vijay said, adding that welfare schemes announced by the DMK are mere political gimmicks rather than genuine efforts to address citizens’ problems.
Vijay urged supporters to reject what he called a culture of vote‑buying and political deception. He positioned TVK as a clean alternative to established parties, promising that the upcoming elections would be a choice between his party’s “pure force” and the “evil force” of the ruling DMK. His remarks reflect the growing intensity of political rhetoric in Tamil Nadu as parties gear up for the polls.
The TVK chief also criticised the government’s handling of women’s welfare programs, claiming that cash transfers and other schemes were designed for electoral gains rather than long-term support. He said that ordinary citizens continue to face hardships despite the DMK’s announcements, and that his party would focus on real solutions to public issues if given a chance.
Vijay concluded by calling for active participation from party workers and youth, asking them to spread awareness about what he described as the government’s failures. He reiterated that TVK aims to bring transparency, accountability, and development-oriented policies to Tamil Nadu politics, positioning his party as a credible alternative in the coming elections.
