T T V Dhinakaran on Tuesday alleged that minorities are safer in BJP-ruled states than in Tamil Nadu, accusing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam of creating a “false narrative.”
Addressing a protest organised by the NDA in Thanjavur, the AMMK general secretary claimed that law and order in the State had deteriorated, stating that women and children were unsafe and that drug abuse among students was on the rise.
He further charged the DMK government with focusing on propaganda instead of governance. “Rather than addressing key issues, the DMK projects itself as a protector through false claims,” he said.
Recalling the tenure of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Dhinakaran said anti-social elements were effectively controlled during her rule, but were now operating freely with alleged political backing.
Reiterating his stance, he said the DMK’s portrayal of the BJP as anti-minority was misleading and insisted that minorities felt more secure in BJP-ruled states.
On the political front, Dhinakaran noted that the split among AIADMK supporters in 2021 had aided the DMK’s victory. He expressed confidence that cadres are now united and said the AIADMK-led NDA would perform strongly in the upcoming Assembly elections.
