A powerful biographical documentary titled RMV: The Kingmaker is set to be released, highlighting the life, leadership, and legacy of veteran political and cinema personality Arulalar RM Veerappan Ayya.The documentary explores how RMV shaped eras in Tamil Nadu’s politics and film industry, tracing his journey from early associations with Thanthai Periyar and Arignar Anna to becoming a trusted pillar of Puratchi Thalaivar M.G. Ramachandran (MGR).
The film features interviews with prominent personalities including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Rajinikanth, Sarathkumar, Ilaiyaraaja, Satyaraj, Vairamuthu, and ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, along with voices from literature, culture, spirituality, and politics.
Through rare archival footage and extensive research, the documentary showcases RMV’s discipline, administrative strength, and contributions to Tamil society.
The film also highlights RMV’s pioneering vision of content, creativity, and culture forming the foundation of India’s emerging ‘Orange Economy’, later echoed at the 2025 WAVES India Summit.
“RMV: The Kingmaker” is jointly produced by Sathya Movies and The Golden King Studios, with Thangaraaj Veerappan serving as producer and Binu Subramaniyam directing.
The team undertook extensive field research, interviews, and historical documentation to present an authentic and emotional tribute to RM Veerappan’s extraordinary life and enduring impact on Tamil Nadu’s cultural and political landscape.
