Indian cinema made a strong impression on the global stage at CinemaCon 2026, with Yash grabbing attention through his insights into his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups.

Sharing the stage with Namit Malhotra, the actor described the project as a layered and unconventional take on gangster cinema, aimed at both Indian and global audiences.

Speaking about the film, Yash revealed that Toxic has been shot in English as well, marking a significant step towards international storytelling. He noted that while the film may appear like a conventional action-driven gangster story on the surface, it delves deeper into human psychology and complex emotional layers. “It’s not a typical gangster film. It explores dark characters in a very unique way, with themes that audiences can relate to,” he said, highlighting the film’s depth and narrative ambition.

The actor also praised director Geetu Mohandas for bringing a fresh perspective to the genre. He described the collaboration as exciting, crediting the filmmaker and technical team for crafting a visually rich and thought-provoking cinematic experience. “It’s going to be a visual treat, but also something that leaves a lasting psychological impact on the audience,” Yash added, underlining the film’s dual appeal.

Reflecting on the evolution of Indian cinema, Yash emphasised the country’s cultural diversity and how pan-India storytelling has bridged linguistic barriers. He described India as “a world in itself,” noting that films like Toxic represent a new wave of cinema that blends regional roots with global aspirations.

According to him, the film is designed to connect with a wide audience while offering a distinctly unique experience.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and backed by Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups features an ensemble cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
