The Tamil Nadu BJP has accused the ruling DMK of following an unfair language policy in schools. The party claims the state’s two-language policy denies government school students from poor backgrounds the chance to learn a third language.BJP leader Annamalai alleged that private schools, including those run by families of DMK leaders, allow students to study three languages. He said this creates different rules for rich and poor students.
Annamalai also accused Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of misleading the public by portraying the three-language policy in the National Education Policy (NEP) as an attempt to impose Hindi. He said the NEP allows flexibility and does not force the study of any particular language.
The BJP has argued that the DMK’s stand is limiting opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and that all children should have equal access to learning more languages.
