Former Tamil Nadu BJP state president K. Annamalai has said the Congress party is gradually fading away and has lost its relevance in Tamil Nadu politics. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters at a public event.Annamalai criticised the Congress for internal divisions, saying there are competing groups within the party that are more focused on their own interests than on the concerns of the people. He claimed the party lacks the time and focus to think about the welfare of Tamil Nadu’s citizens.
Speaking about recent political developments, Annamalai pointed out that the Congress has split into different factions in the state, and suggested this weakens the party’s ability to serve the public. He said that in the upcoming elections, the Congress might struggle to make an impact because of this disunity.
Annamalai’s comments reflect growing tensions in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape as parties prepare for the 2026 assembly polls. He argued that the Congress is increasingly unable to present a clear agenda for voters and is being overshadowed by other political forces.
