Telugu actor Nani is reportedly set to collaborate with Tamil filmmaker C Prem Kumar, best known for directing ’96 and Meiyazhagan, for his next film. Actress Rukmini Vasanth, who shot to prominence with the Sapta Sagaradaache Ello films and Kantara: Chapter 1, is also said to be part of the project.
According to reports, the upcoming film is expected to be a feel-good romantic drama centred on human relationships. The project is yet to be officially announced, and the casting details remain unconfirmed.
Nani has expressed his admiration for Prem Kumar’s Meiyazhagan in several interviews, describing it as one of his favourite films of the decade. The actor has also spoken about wanting to be part of a subtle, emotional film, a genre closely associated with the director’s storytelling.
Nani is currently preparing for Bloody Romeo, directed by Sujeeth, following his recent release The Paradise. Meanwhile, Rukmini Vasanth has several projects across Indian film industries, including NP 51, co-starring Nivin Pauly.
An official announcement regarding Nani’s reported collaboration with Prem Kumar is expected in the coming days.
