DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi has issued a statement asserting that the palpable fear among the party’s political opponents is a direct indicator of its impending victory. His comments were made in the context of the DMK’s highly popular “Oor Aniyil Tamilnadu” (Tamil Nadu in one front) membership drive, which he claims is attracting a massive influx of new members.Bharathi directed sharp criticism at AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), alleging that he attempted to disrupt the DMK’s campaign by filing a petition in court. Bharathi portrayed the court’s decision to not ban the drive as a significant setback for Palaniswami, which he said underscored the desperation and panic within the AIADMK ranks.
The DMK leader also addressed the court’s ruling, which, while allowing the campaign to continue, provided new guidelines regarding the use of OTP for new member registrations. In a swift response, Bharathi announced updated procedures for the “Makkaludan Stalin App.” Under the new rules, members can be registered without an OTP, and a new guideline permits a 1:4 ratio of members per phone number, ensuring the drive’s momentum is maintained.
Concluding his statement, Bharathi attributed the public’s overwhelming enthusiasm to join the party to the success of the “Dravidian model” government’s welfare initiatives. He expressed firm confidence that the DMK, under the leadership of M.K. Stalin, is on a clear path to forming the government again in the 2026 assembly elections.
