Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar has urged school and college students across the State to watch GDN, the biographical drama on legendary inventor and industrialist G.D. Naidu.
Speaking after a special screening of the film at NFDC, Chennai, the Speaker said G.D. Naidu’s life offers valuable lessons on self-reliance, knowledge, curiosity and innovation. He said he would recommend to the Tamil Nadu Government that government school students be taken to watch the film.
“Self-reliance is the need of the coming generation,” Prabhakar said, stressing that youngsters should identify their talents, develop their skills and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Describing GDN as a “stunning piece of work”, he added: “GDN movie is the need of the hour.”
The screening was attended by Loyola Mani, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation, Minister Gilli Sharath and other guests.
Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and produced by Varghese Moolan Pictures and Tricolour Films, GDN stars R. Madhavan as G.D. Naidu. The film has music by Govind Vasantha and is currently running in theatres across Tamil Nadu and overseas.
