The ruling DMK has intensified its political rhetoric by mocking AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) regarding his recent high-profile trip to Delhi for seat-sharing negotiations. In a sharp critique, the DMK compared the AIADMK party office to a “lock-up,” a metaphorical jab at what they describe as a lack of transparency and an atmosphere of secrecy surrounding the opposition’s internal discussions with central leadership.
According to DMK representatives, the opaque nature of these talks suggests a level of desperation and a lack of autonomy within the AIADMK’s decision-making process. They argued that the public deserves to know the terms of any potential alliance, especially when it involves major national parties, and that the “closed-door” approach only serves to create confusion among the electorate.
In response, AIADMK supporters have dismissed these comments as a distraction from the DMK’s own governance record. However, the “lock-up” label has quickly gained traction in local political circles, highlighting the deepening divide between the two major Dravidian parties as they gear up for the upcoming electoral challenges and solidify their respective coalition strategies.
